As well as the usually fine and warm climate here in Marbella there are other benefits to visiting Cabopino in the winter time. One of these is the amazing sunsets most evenings, which are especially superb from the beach. In one of the lovely Cabopino beach bars – even better 🙂
This time of year the sun sets over the sea whereas in the summer months the sun sets more over the land and mountains.
This attracts even more than the usual number of professional and amateur photographers down to the beach with their subjects. Cabopino’s beaches with the unspoiled rolling dunes as a backdrop are amazing popular with locals for recording their baby photos, holy communion, wedding pictures, etc.
And the golden hour at sunset and just after are especially popular for catching the amazing sunsets and purple and pink coloured skies. The images shown on this page where are snapped with a smart phone!
Another benefit, in addition to the warm days, of being so far south in comparison to Northern Europe is the longer days with sunset in the deepest winter months being about 6pm.
Additionally in the cooler winter months there tends to be more crystal clear days which offer amazing views out over the Mediterranean to Gibraltar (the middle lump on the horizon) and the African mountains in Morocco (the left lump on the horizon in the below image).
